Here is an interesting interview with Bill Black by a Bloomberg reporter who asked for his opinion of what is going on at the biggest US banks.
Question: Tim Geithner is the Treasury Secretary, does he not know what he is doing?
"Geithner has a record of being a failure at every step of his career. Most recently he was the president of the Federal Reserve of New York, which of course is supposed to regulate the largest bank holding companies in the United States. Well we can see how well he did, he did not take a single effective action against this coming sub-prime crisis and did not even warn about it and when he was asked recently in congress, he said, 'well I have never been a regulator', Well his job descript-xion was to BE a regulator...
