What the fools in Savannah might not realize is that the smoking ban was meant to be a distraction. The local "news" paper, that piece of shit SMN paper thing, ran articles on both the smoking ban and tax hike and e...

Savannah City Council aims to bar smokers from using sidewalks
From the Savannah Channel Writers The "god-like" members of the Savannah city council have drafted a new city ordinance which would prohibit smoking within 20 feet of any business. With this language it will be illegal to smoke a cigarette while walking down many downtown streets. One example would be Broughton Street where the narrow sidewalks make it impossible for someone to walk and smoke...

Chatham County Commissioners - So fucking what if they contribute to, promote and give cover for a suspected, perhaps obvious fraud?
Strong Opinion

I had a craving and went to the beach for some grub. Turns out it was good grub exactly as I had expected. I walked on the beach to make myself feel better. I guess my blood is pretty thin as I was pretty cold but I sure am glad I had a good coat and a warm hat on. I always think about the big rim glasses with the attached nose and mustache but I left those in the car. <...

Review of Taco Bell Cantina - FAIL
Opinionated

Are you looking for that feeling that you just got ripped off really good without wasting more than $2.00 for the feeling? Well, just get a shredded pork Cantina taco from Taco Bell. I will have to guess that the other new Cantina offerings are just as horrible because I will not buy any of them. This will only make me think much harder about buying new offers from Taco Bell whi...

Chatham County government website promotes LIES
Strong Opinion

If you wondered if you were a stupid American you would be right to say to yourself "Yes, I am a stupid American". If you wondered if you were any less stupid than an American by living in the country of Chatham County you would be right to say to yourself "No, I'm pretty fucking stupid living in the country of Chatham County".

Why is this you might ask? First, let me...

Tybee Island has an ethics commission - What about Savannah and Chatham County?
Opinion Tybee Island has an ethics commission. In the last two years I've read about at least two hearings by the Tybee Island ethics commission. Savannah and Chatham County have had ethics complaints lodged against them alleging no-bid contract rigging, use of public facilities for private purposes by elected, unapproved expenditures for city council members to go on a non-government function ...

Are you ready for the United States of Germany?
By Michael Pettis

“How can I, that girl standing there, my attention fix,” asked William Butler Yeats plaintively in the midst of the political upheavals of the early 1930s, “on Roman or on Russian or on Spanish politics?”  Well, love and beauty in the Beijing spring weather notwithstanding, it is hard once again not to fix attention on Roman and Spanish politics or, more spe...

More On Goldman's "Perfect Record"
By Karl Denninger

A bit of math for the geeky among you... or those interested in the odds of Goldman's "perfect trading record" being achievable. Let's take a simple game of chance.  We flip a coin and call "heads" a winning day, and "tails" a losing day.  A pure game of chance with a 50% set of odds for each "trial." If we perform one flip, half the time it will come u...
